President's
Message -
The threat of
inclement weather on the day of the club's April milonga kept many
patrons away from the night-time festivities.
Those brave souls (56 in all) who ventured out, determined to
battle the elements in the pursuit of tango dreams, had a wonderful
time with plenty of food and captivating music supplied by DJ Len
Lichtstein to keep them company.
Many thanks go out to Victoria and Federico who got things started
with an entertaining lesson.
I also want to thank everyone who braved the elements to
support the club's milonga, and those who stayed to help me with the
clean-up.
It has always been one of the goals of the Board of Directors
of Tampa Bay Tango to produce a quality milonga with which its
members could be proudly associated, and for almost thirteen years I
think we have done a pretty good job of meeting your expectations
without having to increase the price of admission.
Regrettably, due to the increased monthly club expenses
associated with rent, food, teaching services, printing, postage,
internet subscription, and other overhead expenses which have
continued to escalate over the years for the club, we can no longer
keep pace with our expenses without having to dip into reserves,
and, thus, we are forced to raise the cost of admission to our
milongas to meet expenses.
Accordingly, effective with TBT's June 16th
milonga, the cost of admission will be raised by $2 for club members
and guests, i.e., $10 and $12, respectively.
We hope you will consider this slight increase in the cost of
admission to the club's milongas to still be a good value for your
money, and. continue to support the club's activities.
Our next milonga is scheduled for May19th.
Please make plans to join us for another great evening filled
with friends, frolic, fun, food, and refreshments!
